PaperAdvancing Orebody Knowledge with High-Resolution Rock Strength Measurement Using the Minpraxis Tester · MassMin 2024, Kiruna
Read the paperContext
A continuous section of core from an orogenic gold deposit was logged for rock type, veining and microdefects.
The Work
The core was then split between conventional strength tests and MPT testing on half core.
Results
MPT results agreed with point load and Brazilian tests over 20 m composites and followed UCS trends down the hole. MPT strength dropped with increasing veining and microdefect intensity, in line with the conventional tests.
