Test campaigns with the full-scale MPT prototype covered half core from a VHMS deposit and lump samples from several other deposits.
The Work
Point load and SMC drop weight tests provided the reference data.
Results
MPT half-core results correlated well with point load strength and drop weight parameters. Lump testing predicted drop weight index across seven deposits with a single model, and denser MPT data reduced the error margin on mean strength in a copper porphyry study.
